CCO is recruiting only cello and bass players at the present time. Our violin and viola sections are fully staffed.
We do not have auditions. Instead, those who are interested in joining are invited to try us out at a rehearsal. During the pandemic we’ve been safely spread out in a large studio with filtered air.
Our members range from advanced beginners to confident soloists. Much of the music we play is arranged especially for us by our director, William Bauer, who finds interesting pieces that are challenging to everyone, but not overwhelming. Use the form below to tell us what instrument you play and something about your experience. We’ll respond promptly by email inviting you to a rehearsal and giving you the password to download your music.
We are a cooperative orchestra, governed and supported by our players. We are a 501C3 nonprofit, but do not need to hold fundraisers or sell tickets. All concerts are free. Orchestra members who are in a position to do so make financial donations, and we all contribute time and talent to give quality performances. CCO also receives revenue from museum and library concerts, grants and corporate donations.
